BEDROCK BUILDERS

Monday night was for exploring as we set off late that evening. Xavier took me to a wonderful place called the Bedrock – Flintstones Toon in Drymonia.

I simply adored this wonderful sim. The builders laid a loving hand throughout inspired by the well-known cartoon, the Flintstones.

I love sims that are created by builders who just build what they want without a corporate slant… Flintstones Town is a wild mix of fantasy trees, bedrock buildings, a cool dance floor and the fun bowling alley. Silly and sooo much fun.

We stayed there the entire night just playing and acting silly. We even changed our shape and skin into a butterfly and cartoony unicorn. Just a delightful place! So precious…

Builders: Class, Gender and Ethnicity in the Construction Industry (Routledge Advances in Ethnography)

Building workers constitute between five and ten per cent of the total labour market in almost every country of the world. They construct, repair and maintain the vital physical infrastructure of our societies, and we rely upon and trust their achievements every day. Yet we know surprisingly little about builders, their cultures, the organization of their work or the business relations that constitute their industry. This book, based on one-year’s participant observation on a London constructi

Subject : Dumped Builders’ Waste – Liston Road N17

Please see the photo I’ve posted on Flickr. I took it at 6.55 pm yesterday evening 5 October. It shows waste spilling onto the pavement outside a newly-built house on Liston Road N17. I couldn’t see the number in the dark, but I’ve marked the location on the Flickr map. (Click on the map to the right of the photo.)

A resident who lives nearby told me that the rubbish outside the building has been there for about a month; and was left behind by the builders.

(1) Can someone please contact the owners of these flats and, if this rubbish is builders’ waste then arrange for them to have it removed.
(2) Can a check be made that the new residents are listed for waste and recycling collections. If they are not, can they be visited, supplied with wheelie bins etc and a waste collection arranged.

Thanks for your help.

N.B.
If Haringey’s ban/block on the Flickr website is still in place, please note that until the ban is removed, the Director, Mr Bolger and his P.A. have been allowed access.
